Large Country Garden
The clients designed their new house with future-proofing in mind, to work as their forever home and the garden needed to match that brief with wide paths for wheelchair use and gentle level changes.
Porcelain was chosen for low-maintenance paving, mixed with Belgian clay paver detailing. Granite setts pave the entrance area, complemented by a slate water feature.
Lush planting, cared for weekly by their gardener, softens the space and adds year-round colour and interest.
The design comprised a large dining terrace, pathways around the house, a gravelled working area with greenhouse, a rose garden and various seating areas as focal points and from which to enjoy a different view of the garden.
A grid of multi-stem trees underplanted with wildflower turf provide shelter and nectar for insects.
The driveway was planted up with wildflower turf mixed with bulbs and flowering shrubs to extend the season.
