I was asked to liaise with teachers, pupils, PTA staff and parents on the planting scheme for this previously drab central outdoor area of a school in Oxford.
The brief was to introduce insect and bird-friendly planting and to transform this previously neglected, rather boring and unloved area into an oasis where children and teachers alike could find a bit of calm, eat lunch, take lessons outside or just relax.
The planting needed to be very low-maintenance as it would mainly be tended by a volunteer group of parents.
The school is thrilled with the result and now find the area useful for hosting various events.
